Things are getting Christmassy way up north (I’m back from London for the holidays) baking salt-dough decorations, crocheting gifts and lino printing cards… and not forgetting lovely frosty walks up the Peak District hills.

Things have been so crazy lately that I forgot to send santa my annual letter asking for a dog. So I’m working on a 2-colour doggie lino print to stamp all over my christmas wrapping paper, hopefully someone will get the hint…

We gained one whole extra hour this weekend.
Having extra sleep is nice but there are plenty of other regular weekends to do that.
I decided to spend my hour doing something that is useful to me.
Last week I went life-drawing for the first time in 2 years and I’d forgotten how helpful the quick warm-up sketches are.
Literally I am a different person when I’m in that zone, the perfectionist in me gives way to the unpredictable free messy Hannah, who cares less about accuracy and more about experimentation.
It’s a shame that I reserve this for Thursday night classes, so I thought I’d do some practising.
Every three minutes for my extra hour I did one drawing and tried my best not to care if it was good or not (most of them aren’t!)
Another great thing about life-drawing class is showing my crap drawings to a room full of strangers- equally as nerve-wracking as sharing crap drawings over a blog.
Here they are.
